Rainbow Log Cabin

Having made the two Peace River quilts a few years ago the left over pieces of fabric were put into a bag and gradually added to with sample swatches from various dye experiments. It got to the stage where 'something had to be done'!
At the time I was having a log cabin phase - teaching my local group and making a handling sample for The Quilters Guild Museum in York.
This is my sample for the Guild Museum - it's aprox 10" square

Teaching sample turned into a small bag. A 9" square of log cabin.
This sample which used dress weight cotton that I had dyed, inspired me to get out my bag of cotton lawn scraps and just to make it a bit more interesting I made one side of each square with slightly narrower strips.
Here is the the centre of my log cabin quilt.
The 6" squares of log cabin are hand sewn - useful for watching TV or when out and about - then machined together.
The quilt progresses and with just 6 more blocks to make I shall soon be posting a picture of the finished patchwork.
